Lesson Scheduling and Attendance:
Lessons are offered weekly in durations of 30, 45, or 60 minutes, tailored to the student's level.
Commitment is expected from August/September through May.
Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you can't attend a lesson. Make-up lessons will be scheduled at the end of each month.
Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring breaks will be communicated via the My Music Staff calendar.
Payments:
Monthly payments are due at the start of every month through the My Music Staff website.
Automatic payments are strongly encouraged to ensure timely payments and prevent any oversights.
Payment can be made via credit/debit card or preferred through a bank account to minimize fees. However, this is not obligatory.
Hygiene and Preparation:
Always bring your lesson books to each session.
Keep your fingernails trimmed and hands clean for effective practice.
If feeling unwell, stay home and let us know. We'll do our best to reschedule, but it's not always guaranteed.
Practice and Progress:
Practice at least 5 times a week for half the lesson duration (e.g., 30 minutes for a 1-hour lesson).
Strive for consistent progress; prolonged repetition of the same piece may lead to lesson discontinuation.
Recording and Sharing:
Occasionally, pieces may be recorded during lessons for social media sharing.
Recitals will be recorded and live-streamed on Facebook and/or YouTube (links will be provided).
You might be assigned to record a piece at home for social media and personal reference. Please use horizontal orientation with your phone or camera.
Recitals and Performance:
All students are expected to attend studio recitals held twice a year, unless a family emergency arises.
Memorization is required for pieces performed or recorded during recitals.
Consistent participation enhances learning and growth.
Late Arrival and Missed Lessons:
Be punctual; lessons will end at the scheduled time.
Missed lessons due to forgetting will not be rescheduled.
If a lesson is canceled by the instructor, efforts will be made to reschedule it by year-end, if possible.
Discontinuation of Lessons:
If discontinuing lessons is considered, please discuss with us first. We'll work together to find a suitable solution.
Excessive missed lessons might lead to discontinuation.
Online Lessons and Accommodations:
Online lessons are an option not only for illness but also if you're unable to attend in person.
I'm committed to accommodating lessons to the best of my ability.
Feedback and Improvement:
Communication is vital; let us know if you encounter challenges or have suggestions.
We're here to guide your musical journey and help you thrive.
Please note: These policies are subject to change or additions.
Feel free to ask if you have any questions or need further clarification. Your progress and musical experience are valued at Teclado Music Institute!
